Day One in my Search:
What: How I DIDN'T come to own my Dooney and Bourke leather over the shoulder bag AND faux yellow quilted Chanel bag. (But just you wait!!)
When: This past Wednesday.
Who: My friends Julia, Sam, Rachel and I.
How: SIDEWALK SALEEEE!
When looked back on, the outcome seems like fate. I was on a mad quest to find an authentic Chanel bag that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg for nearly a week. Countless of hours on ebay had sorrowfully proved to be worthless and websites always seemed to have a hidden catch. I had lost hope in finding a Chanel bag over the internet and had determined it was time to pullout the heavy artillery: finding a physical bag that I could get my hands on at a consignment shop. I had heard tales of a mystical and magical consignment store over the rainbow and through the woods (well, more like a right and two lefts) that someeetimes *just sometimes* sold authentic Chanel Purses. Lucky for me it was the annual side walk sale week in my town and there were mark downs and price reductions galore (my paradise). As my friends and I bounded up to the store front and entered (we were rather excited because this store is never open) I spotted a fabulous yellow quilted *Chanel* bag.
Me: Is this ON SALE??
Sales Lady: Yes it is!
Me: How much???!?!
Sales Lady: 35.
Me: AHHHHH REALLY?????????
Sales Lady: Yessssiry!
Me: IT'S REALLLLL????
Sales Lady: What? For 35 dollars? NO WAY!
Me:NOOOOO I'm melting!!!!!
Well...maybe I'm exaggerating a bit...but I was pretty let down...
So that day ended in many almosts but no purchases.
Money SPENT: $0 ...and zeeero cents

Day TWO in my Search:
What: How I DID come to own my Dooney and Bourke leather over the shoulder bag AND faux yellow quilted Chanel bag.
When: This past Thursday.
Who: My mom and I.
How: Once again... SIDEWALK SALE!
Not like it's hard to beat, but this day was definitely more productive than Wednesday....
Fate keeps on rolling as my search keeps on going. We all know that sometimes it is rather difficult to make any serious purchases while out shopping with friends...but when mom's around with her magic card everything seems like pie! As we both entered the designer consignment shop (me for the second time and my mom's first) I spotted the same yellow quilted fauxe (and fauxie!) Chanel handbag. At that moment I realized that this thirty five dollar purse would be adorable and chic even if it wasn't embellished with the double C! Also, half trying to convince myself to buy it, I reassuringly thought in my head that I could still buy a real Chanel bag when the time and circumstances allowed. And luckily, the lady with the money agreed.
As the sales lady showed us the rest of her faux purses and her one authentic Louis Vuitton, we discussed the other consignment stores in town that may sell authentic handbags. There was this one...and possibly that one...and mayyybe that one...but none for sure. Surprisingly not reluctantly at all, the saleslady let us in on a secret. In a spoooky and seeecretunderground mall by the train station there lives a woman selling magical purses for a fraction of the original pricee!!! Wow, that works for me! So as soon as our ears received the sound waves, we were out the store and down the street. When we spotted the barely visible entrance, we entered and descended down the curvy spiral staircase that seemed to never end. All of a sudden we were in the middle of what seemed to be a nearly inhabited underground mall! The spooky factor disappeared as we entered the store outlined and filled with beautiful leather and quilted and suede and simply AMAZING purses! The instant I entered I saw a purse I knew I must have: A dark green and brown leather (with an interior of green suede--im a ucker for suede!!) over the shoulder Dooney and Bourke bag! The original price was just about 300 bucks while the asking price was 60! And to top it all off every bag was an additional 15 percent off! BEAUTIFULLL! As I said, this was fate from the beginning. In the end I got my Chanel bag (yes, it is faux, but who will ever know?) and an awesome leather dooney and bourke! Together they were just 85 dollars which is wayyy less than just one secondhand Chanel purse would cost!! Life is sweeeeeeet!
Money SPENT: $85
