Some of my Favorites

Sorry I haven't been posting lately--I have lost the camera charger! As soon as I find it though, I will take pictures of my new vintage finds and my growing makeup collection (I am quite proud of it!!)

Until I find my charger--here's a picture of my two favorite pairs of shoes... 12 bucks at Kmart! And, the two new OPI shades that I must have!

Leather Skirt

So, I recently ordered this seemingly adorable leather skirt from Urban Outfitters but when I got it I realized never to order urban renewal offline. The cute little pink number I saw is not now gracing my closet, but instead an ugly beige sack is waiting on my dining room table to be returned. It is rather hard thrifitng for a good leather skirt that fits well, but I will go back to the best vintage shop in the world and rummage through the boxes. Do you know of any stores that sell nice leather skirts?

Vintage

My sister has recently introduced me to the best Vintage shop in the world which is conveniently 10 minutes from my house! The store is more of a warehouse and has boxes and boxes of some very eccentric and some very normal vintage clothing. Nothing in the entire store, including the boots, handbags, leather skirts, faux fur jackets, and even wedding dresses are over 20 bucks. Most of the pieces are five dollars but the more elaborate ones are ten. I could spend hours and hours in that store but sadly my shopping mates never can.

The Magics of Styling

It's crazy how you can take a basic as simple as a grey shirt and infuse so many different styles into it! This school year so far I have worn the same grey shirt numerous times and it has gone completely unnoticed! (with a statement piece the repeat would be obvious) Here are pictures of two outfits I wore with the grey shirt.

With American Apparel skirt, XOXO necklace and Carini shoes.

Worn with J. Crew golden headband, Gap cardigan and american Eagle jeans. You could never tell, right? This concludes the experiment of the magic of styling! Huzzahhhhhhh

Margiela mixed with Vintage

A picture of my friend wearing a Margiela wrap dress, vintage combat boots from the besttttt thrift store in the WOLRD, and Dexter tote. I am head over heels (or combat boots!) with this outfit, the vintage vibe mixed with the designer dress really diversifies the look!

DIY Inspiration Anyone?

So as you may have seen on one of my earlier posts, my last DIY attempt was a complete fail. I have been a little wary to begin on my next endeavor but I believe that now I am ready. So, while I was cleaning out my closet and my mom with hers we found this very 80's combo. The golden silk button up shirt and rather large on me and ditto for the blazer which has very big shoulder pads. I have a few ideas of how I could DIY these amazingly 80's pieces, but it is still under consideration...

Do you have any ideas??

Labor Day Weekend

It's the last real week of summer, but to me it feels like the middle of the fall! A family barbeque ended in a parade of sweatshirts and a day at the pool quickly turned into a walk in the woods. I feel the autumn wind beginning to blow away any lingering thoughts of summer activites.

Fauxie Furs

I am very much so in love with faux furs this season, may it be a full faux fur coat or a neck lining, and am planning to go thrifting for some faux fur items soon. I have always loved the look of fur coats and vests and such but have never been able to wear one made out of a dead animal! Now I can be a fuzzy woodland creature without having to kill one!

Bright Tights...and some black tights but that doesn't rhyme...

Brrr! Overnight it has become magically chilly out! When the last true summer month was ripped off the calender, the sun hid behind the clouds and the air turned brutally nippy! This is not all a loss though, now I have an excuse to wear my wonderfully flashy tights!

from left to right: thick black, thin black betsey johnson, white polka dotted, light pink betsey johnson, thin cocoa, bright orange betsey johnson (new!), spider wed betsey johnson (new!), brown checkered, purple.

My favorite dress tights! They are comfortable and never catch.

The most amazing pumpkin orange Betsey Johnson tights! Can't wait to wear these near Halloween!!
